Hello, women of Riverview! There are a few things I want you to share with you about our women’s ministry this fall.
First, please mark your calendar for a women’s event, God’s Big, Beautiful Story, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. This event will teach women how to study the Bible and will show them how all of Scripture points to Jesus. There will be big group sessions, as well as smaller breakouts, and lunch will be provided. Women who are single or whose husbands are working will be able to request child care, and we will share a registration link for all women soon.
Second, you might be wondering what happened to our Women’s Discipleship Groups. Instead of D Groups this semester, a small group of women are meeting this fall on Wednesday nights to work on launching a new women’s mentoring program to connect women one-on-one. Mentors will help mentees learn how to love and follow Jesus and to view their lives and circumstances through the lens of Scripture. Please stay tuned for more details, and even now, please begin praying about whether God would have you serve as a mentor or commit to being a mentee. Meanwhile, please check out the big Wednesday night class: Behold Your God: The Weight of Majesty.
Third, part of my job description is to raise up and support other women in ministry. Please let me know if you are interested in serving in any of these areas:
- Leading a women’s Bible study
- Organizing a regular time for women to meet for fellowship
- Organizing baby showers
- Providing encouragement/support to women in our church facing illness or other difficult circumstances
- Organizing volunteer support for an outside organization, such as a crisis pregnancy center
- Something else on your heart
If you are interested, we should talk to see what opportunities exist and how I can support you. You can email me at [email protected], call or text me at 573-480-1051, or we can set up a time to meet.
Please know I love to hear ideas and want to know what opportunities you see for women’s ministry at Riverview. Thank you for the love and support you have given me as I continue to learn this new role. May everything we do be for God’s glory.
In Jesus’ name,
