So, what exactly is the “next generation” and why have a “next generation” ministry? For Riverview, the “next generation” refers to anyone under the age of 18 or still in high school. The reason we have a NextGen ministry is that we recognize the need for an intentional and unified plan for young people from birth to graduation—or put another way from “cradle to college”.

Through our NextGen ministry we desire to do three things:

  1. Implement measureable ministry goals and clear objectives for each age-group in our church.
  2. Equip and encourage parents to guide the faith of their children at home.
  3. Provide resources for families to live their faith out and walk with Jesus on a daily basis (not just Wednesdays and Sundays).

We want to give the power of leading their children spiritually back to parents. We want the home and the church to work together. We want to say to the next generation, “we realize we can’t do it for you, but we want to help you own your faith and know Jesus intimately.”

Due to the snow this morning, Lifegroups are cancelled but we will still have the 10:45am service for Sunday, 1/14.
