Scott Bechtold is a Riverview Lay Elder.
“I appreciate the opportunity to worship, study God’s Word with others, pray and be available to lend a hand when God opens doorways,” he said.
Scott attended Riverview as a child and became a Christian in 1962. He graduated from the University of Missouri – Rolla with a civil engineering degree, and he worked for a heavy construction company in several states before spending 31 years serving the Highway Department in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Scott and his wife, Mary, came home to the lake area and Riverview in 2019. Their family includes a son, John, and a daughter-in-law, Mendy, who live in Tennessee and have three children, Bailey, Micah and Lucy, and a daughter, Ruth, and her husband, Jon Bussey, who live in Osage Beach and who have four children, Ella, Lydia, Harvey and Lottie.
One of Scott’s favorite verses is Psalm 143:8: “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.”
